ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT

MJ Halberstadt uses his playwriting and teaching to amplify empathy and Antarctic values through comedic dialogue-driven media. He is a proud recipient of the Elliot Norton Award for “Outstanding New Script” (for The Launch Prize), and his work has been acknowledged and supported by Assets 4 Artists, BCA/Company One PlayLab, Boston University Creative Writing Global Fellowship, KCACTF Region 1, and Last Frontier Theatre Conference. He is a founding member of Bridge Repertory Theater, member of the Dramatists Guild of America, and affiliated faculty at Emerson College.


TEAM

Christian Amato (Director)

A director, producer and theatrical strategist who has produced over 45 off-broadway productions. Represented on Broadway, he has served as a producer on notable productions, including Rocky and The Color Purple. He has developed multiple successful campaigns on Broadway for productions such as Kinky Boots, Matilda, Mothers and Sons and It's Only A Play. As a creative director, he has also worked with clients such as Hudson Yards, Budweiser, O Magazine, Discovery Networks, and Clinique. As a director, Christian staged the World Premier productions of Bitch and Barbicide at the Historic Players Theatre. He served as founder and producing artistic director of The Theatre Project and Shakespeare Off-Broadway, which TheaterMania has hailed as "Exciting and innovative" and was described as "A company to watch" by Downtown Magazine. Christian is the Director of Digital Product at Samuel French, the leading house of plays, where he has been at the forefront of the company's digital innovation. He has pioneered new ways to interact with scripts by creating Abbott, the world's first ePlay app, as well as the first Enhanced ePlay of Agatha Christie's best-seller And Then There Were None.

Allyson Condrath (Actor / Zara)

A sketch comedian who co-founded NY comedy troupe, Dinner for One. She performs regularly at the Upright Citizens Brigade and Peoples Improv Theatre and is the creator of the award-winning independent television series, Life Sucks. Allyson graduated with a BFA in acting from Emerson College in Boston where she had the privilege of working with playwright, MJ Halberstadt. This is her fourth opportunity working with MJ and she couldn't be happier! You can see Allyson next, headlining New York's Sketch Festival this October. She would like to thank her husband, Kyle for all of his love and support!

Lauren T. Mack* (Actor / Cali)
